LLNL Computing offers undergraduate and graduate students the opportunity to gain research experience and work with laboratory science and engineering mentors through our internship program. More than 180 students participated in the most recent summer session. A considerable portion of students plan to return for another summer based on their experience here.

Will you be next? Here’s how to apply for our paid internships during the summer months and throughout the academic year.

Our internship program will provide you with real-world, applied experience solving important problems within our stimulating work environment. Through the program, you become part of the LLNL family. At LLNL, you’ll be working in one of the world’s major hubs for innovation—the Silicon Valley—and be exposed to all that the Bay Area has to offer.

LLNL offers challenging internship opportunities supporting a broad array of science and engineering research projects. You’ll attend weekly technical seminars, sit at conference tables with world-leading experts in your field, discuss your work at the Summer Poster Symposium, and take advantage of the many learning opportunities LLNL provides.

Opportunities exist beyond the intern experience. Some students return as Lawrence Scholars, postdocs, or employees at LLNL. In Computing, we benefit from a committed world-class workforce that rivals universities and other national laboratories in the areas of science and technology that support the nation. Contribute to work with a global impact while launching your tech career. Apply now.
