Computing at LLNL advances scientific discovery through foundational and innovative research; mission-driven data science; complex modeling, simulation, and analysis on powerful supercomputers; and creative technologies and software solutions. Everything at Livermore is Team Science. Thus, Computing is at the heart of many of LLNL’s most compelling national security and scientific efforts:

LLNL students, mentors put agentic AI tools to work at cross-laboratory clinic

The 2026 Cross-Laboratory AI Clinic combined shared presentations from DOE and ORNL with local working sessions at LLNL. Participants could bring their own data or research problem or work through a challenge problem developed through the Data Science Institute.

LLNL researchers and their collaborators at UT Austin and UCSD came up with a tsunami prediction framework that combines seafloor sensor data with detailed simulations of wave behavior.
