Requesting a New Computing Account outlines how to get an account on the Open Computing Facility (OCF) CZ and RZ systems and the Secure Computing Facility (SCF). You may also use the Livermore Computing (LC) Identity Management (IDM) System to request accounts.

For ISNSI network/Pinot accounts, please use the form on the Classified Computing Access Request page.

For more specific information, see:

What Happens Next?

  • After your account request has been processed, you will be notified by e-mail or by phone on what to do next.
  • For OCF accounts, you will also receive, via US mail, a One-Time Password (OTP) token. Instructions on how to activate and use this token are included with your account notification e-mail. Offsite users and LLNL employees who work from home must also establish a Virtual Private Network Account.
  • For SCF accounts, you will be asked to visit the LC Hotline in person to set up your initial password. If you are not physically at LLNL, as is the case for SecureNet users, you will receive your password and instructions via US mail.
  • When you are ready to log in, see How Do I Access Livermore Computing Resources?

Machine Status E-mail Lists

When you are given an account on either the OCF (CZ/RZ) or SCF, you are placed on the appropriate machine status mailing lists: or This is a manual process, so you should check to make sure you are on the list if you want to be. When you are on the lists, you will receive machine status notices as appropriate (downtimes, etc.). The Mailing Lists page provides more details on list names, how to subscribe and unscribe from a list, and how to tell if you are on a certain list.
